Proposed Improvements to Carteret Park & Inclusive Playground Project (Announcement & Survey)
The Borough of Carteret is seeking funding through the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection Green Acres Program, Urban Parks Program, and Jake’s Law initiative funding program for improvements at Carteret Park. The Borough proposes to make the following improvements at Carteret Park: reconstruction of the 2 natural grass ball fields, returfing of the multipurpose Walter J. Sullivan field, and the reconstruction of a 9/11 remembrance memorial, construction of a completely inclusive playground, and an ADA accessible restroom building. The public is encouraged to complete this survey online and to relay any questions, comments, and/or concerns to [email protected]. Additionally, a public hearing regarding the proposal will be held in person as part of the regularly scheduled Council meetings on Thursday, January 30th, 2025. A concept plan showing the proposed changes, a preliminary cost estimate, and an environmental impact assessment are attached on www.carteret.net/greenacres for the public to view.
