Carteret, NJ – Mayor Daniel J. Reiman and the Borough of Carteret are proud to celebrate the region’s diverse Hispanic community with Latin Fest this Saturday, July 28 from 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm at Carteret’s Waterfront Park. The event is designed to represent both Caribbean and South American Latino communities with a broad spectrum of musical performances and cultural dance presentations.
Performances at this year’s Latin Fest include Los Nueve Del Sabor, who will get the crowd going with their blend of Colombian cumbia; NJ’s favorite Puerto Rican salsa band Swing Sabroso, performing their long list of salsa hits; Bolivian sensation Marianela Torrico who will sing her award winning repertoire; and Dominican hit-maker Amarfis, who will cap off the night with his infectious merengue. DJ Chubbychu from La Mega 97.9 and MC Willie Will “El Party Maker” will energize the crowd and dance act FFFCCUS Bloque NY, along with world-renowned Salsa instructor Marcus Nieves and his dancers from MDN Latin Dance Studio will amaze with their choreographed salsa dances.
Various food vendors, children’s rides, and the Borough’s popular waterfront fireworks display will make this an event for the whole family that should not be missed. Waterfront Park is located at 100 Middlesex Ave in Carteret. In case of inclement weather, the event would be rescheduled to a rain date of August 4th.
“The ever evolving Carteret Waterfront park is always a great venue for families, friends and community gatherings,” said Mayor Dan Reiman. “As always, we are thrilled to host Central Jersey’s annual Latin Fest and celebrate the diverse communities that make up our area.”
