Carteret, NJ – Maglione’s Italian Ices LLC, of Iselin, NJ has been awarded the bid to operate the Borough of Carteret’s snack stands at both Waterfront Park and Carteret Park. The vendor submitted the highest offer to the borough based on specifications and requirements set forth by the New Jersey DEP and Green Acres programs. Maglione’s contract is valid from May 1 through September 30, and will pay the Borough $681.25 per month for the next five years.
“Carteret offers by far the best parks system in central New Jersey,” said Mayor Dan Reiman. “And now, in addition to exciting recreational opportunities for our residents and guests, we will have the regionally famous Maglione’s Italian Ices to compliment other snacks and novelties.”
Carteret’s Waterfront Park, located at 1 Lighthouse Way, includes a miniature golf course with a lighthouse snack stand that will offer Maglione’s famous Italian Ice, hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, cotton candy, Good Humor Ice Cream and Popsicles, and drinks. Birthday food packages are also available for miniature golf parties. The snack stand at Carteret Park, overlooking Carteret Pond, will feature Maglione’s famous Italian Ice, hot dogs, hamburgers, pulled pork sandwiches, beef empanadas, pizza slices, ice cream and more. Both snack stands will be open 7 days a week, weather permitting.
“There’s nothing better than a nice Italian ice on a hot summer day in our parks,” said Carteret Parks Commissioner and Councilman Vinnie Bellino. “We look forward to all Maglione’s has to offer.”
