Carteret, NJ – Mayor Dan Reiman and Councilman Skippy Sitarz have announced that the Borough has introduced a range of new field trips that will coincide with its already popular Summer Recreation series.
The Borough’s Department of Recreation has released new concert schedules for its Concerts at the Park and Concerts by the Bay (at Waterfront Park) series, and the continuation of other annual programs. These include the Summer Lunch program for students; summer reading, movies, games, and arts and crafts at the Carteret Library; and sports camps and fitness programs, including new ones established in conjunction with the Robert Wood Johnson Fitness and Wellness Center at Carteret and YMCA.
This summer the Reiman administration is introducing a range of new recreational and educational field trips that will provide both fun and learning to residents of all ages. Free transportation is being provided with vehicles obtained with Federal grant funding. Trips include:
July 12 – Point Pleasant Beach
July 17 – the Intrepid
July 19 – Iplay America
July 24 – Clementon Parl / Splash World
July 25 – Columbus Market Place
July 28 – Bronx Zoo
July 31 – Sesame Place
August 04 – Storybook Land
August 07 – Liberty Science Center
August 08 – Keansburg Amusement & Water Park
August 11 – Adventure Aquarium & Battleship New Jersey
August 14 – New York Botannical Gardens
August 15 – Jenkinsons Aquarium
August 21 – Lancaster County & Dutch Wonderland
August 25 – Statue of Liberty
August 28 – Wildwood
While there is no charge for transportation, ticket sales will be according to what each venue charges for admission.
“Our summer bus trips make a wide array of destinations available to our residents at no additional cost,” Mayor Reiman said. “Judging by this year’s registrations, the program has grown immensely in popularity, offering a greater variety of fun and educational trips than ever before.”
