Carteret, NJ – Carteret Middle School & High School to host Annual Carteret Conquers Cancer 5K Walk through the Borough. The walk is scheduled for Saturday May 21, 2016 starting at the middle school at 8:30 AM.
Carteret Conquers Cancer was created in 2008 by, then two eight-grade girls, Amber Melo and Amanda Joyce with the goal of raising $25,000 for cancer research and is dedicated to the memory of Jessica Kushner, a local resident who passed away from cancer. This year marks the 5thAnniversary of the walk, Amber and Amanda are now seniors in High School, and have raised over $65,000 to help cure cancer.
Carteret Conquers Cancer is still in need of vendors to sponsor the event. Any sponsors contributing $100 or more will have their names printed on the official Carteret Conquers Cancer T-Shirts distributed at the event. The cost of registration is $10 and can be completed just prior to the event at 7:30 AM or online at http://relayfielddayorg/carteretmiddleschoolnj.
