This free, public event will be held at the town’s Bishop Andrews Park (corner of Essex and Pershing Avenue) from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., offering a number of health-related screenings, and community oriented attractions for visitors of all ages. These will include:
- St. Peter’s Mobile Unit
- Blood Pressure Screenings
- Middlesex County Center for Empowerment
- Middlesex County Mosquito Commission
- NCADD (National Center Addiction and Dependency)
- NJ Sharing Network
- Carteret Health Department
- Acelero Learning Center (Head Start)
- Carteret Housing Authority
- Robert Wood Johnson Fitness & Wellness Center
- Carteret Fire Department
The event will coincide with a range of health programs and services introduced by the Reiman administration that have brought valuable health services to area residents at minimal cost. Such services have included medical screenings as well as vaccinations, home safety programs, and spaying and neutering for household pets.
Mayor Daniel J. Reiman said, “Our annual health fair is one of many ways we have sought to bring healthier living to Carteret and the greater community, while providing a fun-filled day of family oriented activities. From the new RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center, to our Health Department’s expanded constituent services, we are truly moving in the right direction.”
“Life is busier than ever, so it is vital that we make access to health services as easy and stress-free as possible for our residents,” added Council President Naples. “On August 3rd, we are bringing these programs and agencies to the individual, as opposed to demanding the reverse. I am looking forward to a very successful event.”
