Carteret, NJ – Mayor Daniel J Reiman and the RWJ Rahway Fitness & Wellness Center at Carteret are kicking off the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign on April 5th at 5:30PM with a 1-mile “Walk with the Mayor.” The event will include a performance by Carteret’s Blue Fire Step Team at 6:15 PM and it will be followed by a Zumba Party at 6:30 PM at the Fitness Center that will be open to the public. Light refreshments from local healthy vendors will be provided. Free blood glucose testing will be available.
The Mayor’s Wellness Campaign is a statewide initiative meant to facilitate the creation of different programs, unique to each community, intended to motivate residents to participate in health and exercise campaigns. The Municipalities are encouraged to find new and creative ways to engage seniors, youth, employees and the broader community as a whole.
The RWJ Fitness & Wellness Center at Carteret was opened as collaboration between the RWJ Rahway Hospital, the Borough of Carteret and Fitness & Wellness Professionals of Princeton, New Jersey, in 2012. Fitness & Wellness Professional Services partners with hospitals all over the state to meet the needs of New Jersey communities.
