Carteret, NJ – Mayor Dan Reiman and the Borough Council in partnership with the Carteret Historical Committee and Central Jersey Arts Council have announced programming plans for the spring of 2016.
Central Jersey Arts Council (CJAC) is a non-profit organization that is devoted to increasing community-wide access to history, culture, and the arts. Carteret has been identified as a focus region with the newly opened Blazing Star Cultural Arts Center at 63 Carteret Avenue. It serves as a hub for events, workshop, and performances.
“We are fortunate to live in such a diverse community. Programs like this bring us together to celebrate our heritage, individuality, and common interests,” said Mayor Reiman. “Thousands of residents have participated in free arts, historical, and cultural events in 2015 and 2016 with statistics showing a broad range in both ethnic and age diversity.”
Most events are free of charge and open to all ages. Many performances and exhibitions feature local artists and talent. CJAC is eager to meet local historians and artists (musical, theatrical, or visual). If you are interested in joining CJAC’s artist registry or wish to be added to the CJAC mailing list please email info@centraljerseyartscouncil.org.
