Carteret, NJ – Mayor Daniel Reiman announced the return of the Concerts in the Park and the Concerts by the Bay series. Both series feature family-friendly live music in two of the Borough’s Parks, Waterfront Park and Carteret Park all summer long. The Concerts are sponsored by the Borough of Carteret and the Carteret Business Partnership. In total seventeen concerts are divided between the two parks and each group has a very unique style and sound.
“Our summer concerts are one of our more popular summer recreation activities,” said Mayor Reiman. “The series gives residents entertainment options that don’t require sitting in traffic or dealing with the congestion on the Parkway. We have a good mix of different styles and genres that offer something for everyone.”
Concerts by the Bay will take place every Sunday at 7PM in Waterfront Park at the gazebo adjacent to the cove. The Bay series will run through August 27th. The Concerts in the Park will be every Friday at 7PM at the Szymborksi bandstand in Carteret Park, near the intersection of Cypress Street and Carteret Avenue. Concerts in the Park will run every Friday through August 25th. Both series will be moved indoors to the Thomas J. Deverin Community Center, 100 Cooke Ave, if inclement weather is anticipated or if there is a heat advisory. Sign-up to receive email updates at www.carteret.net/concerts.
“The concerts are a great way to conclude the day by relaxing in one of the borough’s parks and listening to great music,” said Councilman Vinnie Bellino. “We have residents who bring family members and friends from all over. It’s a good time, it is free of charge and this year we have the best line up of musical artists since the series’ were launched.”
