CARTERET, NJ – Mayor Daniel J. Reiman has announced the annual Carteret Holiday Festival and Christmas Tree Lighting, which will be held at Carteret Park on Friday, December 6th from 6 pm – 9 pm. The tree lighting ceremony will take place at 7 pm sharp.

The family-friendly Festival will feature live holiday music from the Carteret High School Varsity Vocals and Carteret Middle School Acapella Choir, as well as pictures with Santa, hot cocoa, cider, cookies, hot pretzels, roasted chestnuts, and horse & buggy rides.

“Each year we capture the spirit of the season here in Carteret with traditional holiday fare and family friendly entertainment,” said Mayor Reiman. “There’s nothing quite like singing carols and enjoying hot cocoa and roasted chestnuts with your neighbors at Carteret Park.”

On the first night of Hanukkah, Sunday, December 22nd,  the Mayor will join local Jewish community leaders and Yeshiva Gedola for the annual Carteret Menorah Lighting at Borough Hall, 61 Cooke Avenue, at 6 pm.

The Borough is also hosting a Holiday Decorating Contest for Carteret residents. Participants must send their name, address, and a picture of their decorated home to info@carteret.net by January 7, 2010. The winner will be announced on the My Carteret Facebook Page on January 10, 2020.
