CARTERET, NJ – Mayor Daniel J. Reiman will present Carteret’s annual Independence Day Festival at Waterfront Park and Veterans Pier, 200 Middlesex Ave, this Saturday, July 2nd from 4:00 pm – 11:00 pm.

“Our Carteret community always unites at our annual festivals and this year’s Independence Day festival will be bigger and better than ever before, at beautiful Waterfront Park,” said Mayor Reiman. “I look forward to celebrating America and the future improvements at Waterfront Park, including our Ferry Terminal which will begin construction this year, and our future pier pavilion, performance stage, and waterfront events center.”

The festival will feature live music from the Infernos, a DJ, beer and sangria garden, food vendors, rides for the kids, and the largest fireworks display in Central Jersey. The fireworks extravaganza begins at 9:15 pm, but all are encouraged to arrive early to ensure a great view.

Carteret’s Independence Day Festival is one of the most popular community events of the year and parking will be limited. All are welcome to utilize the free jitney shuttles leaving from Carteret Public Library (100 Cooke Avenue), the Middle School at Carteret Park, and Minue School on Post Boulevard in West Carteret. The shuttles will run continuously from 4 pm until midnight.
